After over 30 years of existence as an interdisciplinary program at the University of Georgia, Linguistics has now been promoted to departmental status. This achievement is the culmination of years of effort on the part of our faculty, staff, and students.

Kim Waters, Linguistics PhD Student, was featured in a 2016 Flagpole article titled: "Talk About the 'N-Word': UGA Student Organizes Concerts, Lectures and Discussions on Race".
