Linguistics doctoral student, Joey Stanley held a series of Professionalization workshops to assist students with their professional digital presence. His top three tips are using social media to build an online profile, building your own webpage, and joining your field's conversation.

We are very happy to announce the appointment of Dr. Jon Forrest as Assistant Professor in the Department of Linguistics. Dr. Forrest received his B.A. in English with a World Literature & Japanese minor, M.A. in English with a sociolinguistics concentration, and Ph.D.

Assistant Professor of Linguistics Professor, Dr. Pilar Chamorro, taught a course titled: "Linguistic Fieldwork and Amazonian Languages" at University of Santiago de Compostela May 20 - 21, 2019.

Linguistics Ph.D. Candidate, Rachel Olsen, presented "It's All in How You Say It: The Prosody of Emotion" in the 2019 3MT™ Competition April 10th, 2019.

The event is a research communication competition developed by The University of Queensland.

Linguistics graduate student, Kyle Vanderniet, will present a talk about his work at Emory University May 20th, at 3pm in Modern Languages, Room 201.
