Applications are due by February 1 for the 2021 Spark Award For Undergraduate Research in Linguistics! Thanks to a generous endowment created by Michael H. and Nancy E. Scarbrough, the Department of Linguistics is able to offer funding to support undergraduate research projects.

This November, Drew Felt’s essay “Indonesian Versus English Revisited: More Similarities Unveiled” appears in The Classic, the Writing Intensive Program’s journal of undergraduate writing and research.

This November, Michael Wolfman’s essay “Parallelism in Language: A Cross-Linguistic Analysis of English and Indonesian” appears again in The Classic, the Writing Intensive Program’s journal of undergraduate writing and research.

This November, Alpha Smith’s essay “The Unrealized Universality of Phrase Structure: An Analysis of Similarities Between Japanese and English” appears in The Classic, the Writing Intensive Program’s journal of undergraduate writing and research.
