Linguistics Faculty members selected for Willson Center Research Fellowships

Image of Vera Lee-SchoenfeldRecently, Department of Linguistics faculty members Dr. Vera Lee-Schoenfeld and Dr. Jon Forrest were selected to receive Willson Center Research Fellowship awards for the 2022-23 academic year.

Willson Center Fellows are selected by an interdisciplinary UGA committee of distinguished artists and scholars. These fellowships support excellence in the humanities and arts by providing faculty with time to engage in research and creative activity, and to focus on a specific academic project.

Dr. Vera Lee-Schoenfeld's will research "A Linguistic Minority in Contact with a National Majority: A Comparative Analysis of Reflexive Objects in Pennsylvania Dutch, German, and English.";

and

Dr. Jon Forrest will research "Redefining Southernness: Accents and Social Image of Jon ForrestEvaluation in a Changing South.".
